Jill Westeyn is the Deputy Chief of Public Affairs at the United States Mint. She joined the Mint in December 2015 as a Public Affairs Specialist, where she managed the bureau’s social media and played a key role in event planning and execution. Additionally, Jill served as a lead photographer and has captured Mint activities across the nation. She was appointed to her current position in September 2024.
Prior to joining the Mint, Jill was the Awards and Scholarships manager for the Air Force Association (now Air & Space Forces Association) from 2014-2015. Jill managed all aspects of the organization’s historic award program, including the planning and execution of recognition events, ceremonies and dinners held at its major aerospace industry annual conference.
Jill is a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. She served from 2000-2013 in the United States Air Force Band, Washington, DC, performing on oboe and English horn before the world’s highest leaders, dignitaries, and the American public. Additionally, Jill worked additional roles in public affairs, strategic planning and messaging, program management, and executive services.
Jill volunteers as secretary on the Board of Directors for the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, and as a board member for Christ Presbyterian Preschool. In her free time, Jill focuses on creative photography, freelance public affairs work, and serves as the director for the Handbell Choir at Christ Presbyterian Church.
Jill has certifications in project management and social media management. She earned her Master of Professional Studies (MPS) degree in public Relations and Corporation Communications from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies, her Master of Music (MM) degree from the University of Cincinnati, and her Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
Jill and her husband have four sons, and she resides with her husband and three rescue dogs in Herndon, Virginia.
