Jenelle Griles is the the Field Chief for the United States Mint Headquarters, Washington, DC. She is the senior United States Mint Police Officer at the DC Field Unit.
Field Chief Griles began her career in law enforcement while serving in the United States Army in the Military Police Corps before transitioning into Corrections. Under the corrections realm, her assignments included guard commander, inmate transport sergeant, and industries work program supervisor before becoming an instructor at the U.S. Army Military Police School at Ft. McClellan, Alabama and Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. She retired from the U.S. Army in 2009, having spent 22 years of combined service on active and reserve duty with a combat deployment to Baghdad, Iraq as the senior enlisted advisor, at the brigade level, for Detainee Operations.
After serving in the military, Field Chief Griles began her civilian career with the Department of Veterans Affairs Police in East Orange, New Jersey. During her 12 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs, she served as a patrol officer, training officer, and operations captain. Field Chief Griles joined the Mint Police as an officer in 2014 and has since ascended through the ranks at the West Point, Fort Knox, and Washington DC facilities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sullivan University.
