- January 12: The United States Mint accepts orders for the Northern Mariana Islands Official First Day Coin Cover beginning at noon Eastern Time (ET). Production is limited to 20,000 units.
- January 22: The United States Mint opens sales for rolls of 2010 Native American $1 Coins at noon Eastern Time (ET) on January 22, 2010.
- January 25: The 2010 Native American $1 Coin made its official debut at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian George Gustav Heye Center in Manhattan’s financial district.
- January 29: The United States Mint offers the 2010 Kennedy Half-Dollars for sale starting at noon Eastern Time (ET).
- February 11: Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set on sale at noon Eastern Time.
- February 18: President Millard Fillmore Dollar Coin goes into circulation.
- February 25: American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollar commemorative coin released.
- March 10: Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II were honored with Congressional Gold Medals during a ceremony at the Capitol.
- March 18: Abigail Fillmore coin and medal released through the First Spouse Coin and Medal Program.

- March 24: Designs for the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters™ were unveiled at a ceremony led by Mint Director Edmund C. Moy and included designs for Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas; Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming; Yosemite National Park in California; Grand Canyon in Arizona. and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.

- April 20: Official launch ceremony of the Hot Springs Arkansas Quarter held in Hot Springs on the anniversary of the passage of the 1832 act which reserved the springs “for the future disposal of the United States.”

- December 6: The Mint issues the first three–inch, five–ounce America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin struck in .999 fine silver.
- December 14: The Coin Modernization, Oversight, and Continuity Act of 2010 is signed into law authorizing the Mint to research and develop alternative materials for circulating coins, and then report to Congress biennially.
- December 14: American Eagle Palladium Bullion Coin Act of 2010 is passed into law authorizing the Mint to issue troy ounce, .9995 fine palladium coins.
- December 20: Edmund C. Moy, the 38th Director of the United States Mint, announces his resignation effective January 9, 2011.
